Police in urgent hunt for two missing boys, 11, who failed to show up at school

Two 11-year-old boys who triggered a search operation after they failed to turn up to school today have been found safe and well.

Officers had today been appealing for information about the pair, Logan and Alfie, who were expected at school in Cirencester on Monday but failed to appear.

They had left their homes as usual, according to police, but they have not been seen since.

Gloucestershire issues a statement on social media Monday afternoon, saying they were "pleased to report" the two school boys who had been missing have since been found safe and well.

"Thank you for sharing our appeal and thank you to everyone who reported sightings of the boys to us," the statement read.

Police scoured the region for the two boys who had both been wearing their school uniforms.

A police statement issued earlier this morning read: “Gloucestershire Constabulary is appealing for information to help locate two boys who have been reported missing after not turning up for school this morning, Monday 20 September.

"Logan and Alfie, both 11-years-old, were last seen at their home addresses in Cirencester at around 8am when they left for school but did not arrive.

"They were later reported missing and officers are asking for information as they have been unable to locate the pair after checking locations they are known to frequent."

Police had said Logan may have a black scooter with him.

The statement continued: "Logan is described as being short, of a tanned complexion with brown hair and Alfie is described as being taller, of a paler complexion and has brown hair which is longer on the top. Logan may be riding a black scooter.

"Both boys are wearing their school uniform which consists of black shoes, grey/black trousers, a white shirt, red and black tie and a dark blazer."
