Missing mum who vanished after dropping son off at the airport found after urgent hunt

Christine has since been located by police.

Police are desperately looking for a 67-year-old mother who was last seen dropping off her son at the airport.

Mum Christine travelled to Manchester Airport at around 10am on Saturday, June 3, but never returned home.

Her vehicle was spotted in Edenfield, Lancashire, nearly five hours later at 2.40pm.

The disappearance has sparked concerns from her loved ones and friends who are beginning to "grow increasingly concerned", South Yorkshire Police have said.

Christine is around 5ft 5in tall and has shoulder length blonde hair.

A spokesman for the force said: "We are appealing for information to help find Barnsley woman, Christine, who has been missing since yesterday morning (Saturday, June 3).

"It’s believed the 67-year-old travelled to Manchester airport at around 10am to drop her son off. Her car was then spotted in Edenfield, Lancashire at around 2.40pm and she hasn't returned home since. Christine was travelling in her red Rover 75 – registration plate YP03 XEH.

"She is white, 5ft 5ins tall and of a large build, with shoulder length, blonde hair."

They continued: "Christine's loved ones are growing increasingly concerned and we are asking anyone who believes they’ve seen her this weekend to get in touch.
