An urgent call has been issued for courier drivers in Glasgow in response to the coronavirus crisis.
As many as 50 people are being sought to start next week and deliver the likes of medicines and food from hospitals, pharmacies and supermarkets to the vulnerable in our city amid the COVID-19 lockdown.
Glasgow Couriers put out the appeal on Twitter, as companies throughout the country struggle to keep up with demand.
Speaking to Glasgow Live , Stephen Lyll said: "Ideally we’re looking for 50 people. The demand that’s about to come through is to be unbelievable. And really what we’re trying to do is make sure we cope.
"We’re networking with other courier companies as well which is good to see.
"It’s getting to the stage where nobody’s going to be able to cope. Pharmacies and supermarkets are now reaching out. They’re getting stretched."
And asked what people need to apply, Stephen advised it's pretty simple: "They have to have a vehicle, a driving licence and common sense."
"We’ve had a fantastic response so far."
