Urgent appeal to trace witness after man allegedly assaulted woman with pram in broad daylight

Police have launched an urgent appeal to trace a woman who witnessed a man allegedly assault a woman on a Paisley street.

The incident occurred at 4.30pm yesterday (Tuesday, August 20) on Weaver Terrace when the man is alleged to have been verbally abusing the woman, shouting and swearing, before allegedly grabbing her by the hair and pulling her towards him.

One female passerby is believed to have intervened by shouting at the male. The female victim was pushing a pram at the time of the alleged incident.

Police Scotland are looking to speaking to the female witness and have called for anyone else who witnessed the incident to come foward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the police via 101 quoting incident number 2327 of 20th August.
