Urgent appeal to reunite heartbroken Glasgow woman with lost engagement ring

A Glasgow restaurant worker has issued a desperate appeal to be reunited with her engagement ring.

Sophie Demay took off her beloved jewellery during a shift at The Finnieston on Saturday night, but when she went to retrieve it four hours later, it had vanished.

The heartbroken 30-year-old, who got engaged to fiancé David while on a trip to Tiree in August, is now hoping someone has picked up the blue tanzanite stone ring up by mistake, or knows of its whereabouts.

She said: "I took it off and put it on a shelf while I was doing a really horrible cleaning task and then it got really busy and I got sidetracked.

"When I went back for it, it was gone.

"I'm so worried but I wouldn't like to think someone would steal it.

"The cleaning cupboard is accessible from the ladies' toilets but nothing like that ever happens at the pub, so I'm reaching out in case someone has it. It would mean the world to me to get it back."

The incident has been reported to Police Scotland and Sophie is offering a £400 reward for the return of her engagement ring, which disappeared at the Argyle Street venue between 5pm - 10pm on Saturday, November 2.

Anyone who has any information is asked to contact her via Facebook directly, or to call The Finnieston on 0141 222 2884.
