Urgent appeal to find schoolboy, 13, missing from home in Sunderland

Police have issued an urgent appeal to help find a 13-year-old schoolboy who went missing from his home in Sunderland.

Miles Kennedy-Newton was last seen on Thursday lunchtime at his home in Shiney Row.

The teenager is around 4ft 10 tall, with short brown hair and was last seen wearing a duffle coat, with black or grey joggers and black Nike trainers.

Officers said the 13-year-old has links to Consett and could be in this area.

Consett Police have since shared an appeal on their Facebook page and asked for anyone with information to get in touch.

Along with a description of the teenager, the force also shared a photo of him.

In a post, Consett Police said: "We’re appealing for help tracing a teenager who is missing from his home.

"Miles Kennedy-Newton was last seen on Thursday lunchtime at his home in Shiney Row, near Sunderland, but has links to Consett and could be in this area.

"The 13-year-old is around 4ft 10 tall, with short brown hair.

"When last seen he was wearing a duffle coat, with black or grey joggers and black Nike trainers.

"Anyone with information is asked to ring Durham Constabulary on 101 and ask for Consett Response."
