Urgent appeal to find boy, 8, missing with teen girl after trip to the library

A desperate appeal has been launched to find an eight-year-old boy who is missing with a teenage girl.

Gibreel Njie, eight, was last seen at Barking Library in London at about 4pm on Saturday.

He was seen by a relative with a girl believed to be Kadiaa Malone, 13, police say.

The pair are friends who live near to each other.

Police have issued an appeal for help in finding the two children and are urging anyone with information to get in touch.

A statement from the Metropolitan Police says: "Police are appealing for assistance in tracing two children who are missing.

Kadiaa has been reported missing previously (Met Police)

"Gibreel Njie, 8, and Kadiaa Malone, 13, are friends who live near to each other in the Barking area.

"Gibreel was last seen at Barking Library at around 1600hrs on Saturday, 19 October.

"He had gone to the library alone, where he was seen by a relative with a girl believed to be Kadiaa.

"While Kadiaa has been reported missing previously, this is the first time that Gibreel has been reported missing."

Anyone who may have seen either of the children should call police on 101 quoting CAD 337/oct20
