Urgent appeal launched to trace Scots teenager missing for more than two weeks

Cops have launched an urgent appeal to trace a Scots teenager missing for more than two weeks.

Liam Howie, 16, was last seen near Newport on Tay, Fife, on Saturday, June 20.

Concerns are growing for the youngster- who cops say could have travelled to another part of Scotland.

Police believe he may be in the Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and Ayrshire areas and have asked locals to keep watch for him.

A statement issued by police reads: "He is around 5 ft. 2 inches in height with a slim build, short dark hair and blue eyes. He is known to usually wear tracksuit trousers and hooded tops with trainers.

"Extensive enquiries have been carried out and officers believe Liam may be in the Renfrewshire, Inverclyde and Ayrshire areas.

"Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen Liam or who has any information or knowledge as to his whereabouts to contact police via 101, quoting incident number 4775 of 20 June, 2020."
