Missing 6yo returned home 'safe and well' after public appeal

A six-year-old boy who was taken from his home in south-eastern Perth by a family member has been returned, with police saying he is safe and well.

The boy was taken from a house on Foulkes Way in Byford about 9:40pm last night, with WA Police issuing an appeal for "urgent public assistance" to help find him.

Police were worried because he required daily medication which he did not have with him.

But an update was issued shortly after 9:00am, saying the boy was back home.

Police have thanked the public and media for their assistance.
