Urgent allergy warning for Tesco customers after popular product 'mis-packaged'

An urgent allergy warning has been issued due to the undeclared presence of egg in a popular Tesco product.

The batch of Tesco Tzatziki was accidentally mis-packed with Tesco Sour Cream and Chive, meaning it contains egg, which isn't on the label.

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland issued the alert to all customers who may be allergic or intolerant.

The affected batch is 200g in size and has a use-by date of April 12, 2021.

A spokesperson for the FSAI said: "The implicated batch of Tesco Tzatziki was mis-packed with Tesco Sour Cream and Chive.

"The product contains egg which is not mentioned on the label.

"This may make the batch unsafe for consumers who are allergic to or intolerant of egg."
