The Cool Kids
On tour

The Cool Kids are a group that are completely unafraid to wear the old school tie. Referencing gold chains, pagers and BMX bikes, their music is a spiritual throwback to a time when hip-hop was in its infancy. Happily though, they're not a product of the same "backpacker" tendency that filled indie hip-hop with self-defeating neurotic compulsions around the turn of this century. Instead, Antoine "Mikey Rocks" Reed and Evan "Chuck Inglish" Ingersoll display an attitude that's just right. Filled with a love for the music, and a dry wit at the expense of themselves and the medium, their flow has attracted an audience far wider than nostalgists and ironists. A meeting with producer Diplo led to an MIA support slot, while the great mixtape track Gettin' It has seen them hook up with hip-hop's reigning king, Lil Wayne.
