According to multiple inside sources and news outlets, former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer will soon be officially named the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Meyer retired from Ohio State back in January of 2018 citing health issues with a brain cyst and the stressors of college coaching that led to it becoming more difficult to manage. This, of course, was also on the tails of Meyer going through the well-chronicled controversy and suspension surrounding the Zach Smith fiasco.
Since his retirement, Meyer has held onto a post as an administrator at Ohio State, done broadcast work with FOX and the B1G Network, and even dabbled in the restaurant business.
He has said all along he doubts he ever gets into the coaching ranks again, but always left the door open. The door now seemingly has gone from ajar, to wide open at the highest level of the NFL and Jacksonville.
Told Urban Meyer and Jacksonville are in agreement. Press conference later today

We’ll have more on this later, but now the watch continues for a couple of things that will have an interest at Ohio State. Will Meyer and the Jags take Trevor Lawrence or Justin Fields at quarterback, and will the former OSU coach take any assistants that are currently on the Buckeye staff? What about former Ohio State assistants that are elsewhere?
We’ll know soon enough.
