Urban Meyer had 10,000 foot stare when shaking hands with Mike Vrabel after loss

Being disappointed after a loss in the NFL, all the way down to the peewee level, seems understandable. It’s not entirely clear what state of mind Jaguars coach Urban Meyer was in as he walked (slogged?) toward Titans coach Mike Vrabel following Tennessee’s 20-0 win over the Jaguars in Week 14, but he looks a bit more troubled than “disappointed.”

Despondent, perhaps. The Titans defense so badly flummoxed the Jaguars offense, it appeared at one point QB Trevor Lawrence was just launching passes downfield for the fun of it.

Or maybe something like this had happened.

The specific triggers don’t seem important. Vrabel — who was on Meyer’s staff at Ohio State — even turns toward Meyer to make eye contact, presumably wishing his former boss well as each team heads in decidedly different directions this season. Meyer had his 10,000 foot stare on lockdown, and proceeded on his way toward bolivian, a la Mike Tyson.

Vrabel’s Titans beat the Jags 37-19 in Week 5, making it a pretty one-sided rivalry thus far. The question is, will there be a Round 3?

Titans fans can only hope so.
