Former Ohio State head coach Urban Meyer is still pretty connected in the college football world. He still talks to a lot of coaches and decision-makers as a part of the media with Fox Sports. So, what he says should be at least listened to.
And before we tell you his thoughts on college football this fall, we must caveat it all with the fact that we’re still learning a ton about the novel coronavirus, and the course it will take.
Taking all of that in stride, Meyer was asked whether he believes there will be college football this fall, and he was extremely confident that we’ll see the sport in some way, shape, or form.
“I’ve had many, many conversations — there will be football,” Meyer said while appearing on Fox College Football. “There are certain areas of the country that have not been (highly) impacted by the C-virus (coronavirus). They will play football. I’ve talked to enough people that they’re adamant that this will happen. What that’s going to look like — to be determined. But they’ll be playing football this fall.”

There are clearly a lot of hurdles still to clear to make this all happen considering many states and conferences have to somehow align. But the more we hear from people involved in the discussions, the more we keep hearing that you’ll be able to turn your television on this fall and see the pigskin flying around.
