Whether you want to create a little oasis on your balcony or grow vegetables on your windowsill, this morning Masterclass will teach you the secrets of successful urban gardening. The class is taught by Alys Fowler, Guardian columnist and author of The Edible Garden, and takes place at the start of September, the perfect time to start sowing veg for winter.
During this three-hour class, Alys will discuss everything from houseplants to containers, indoor edibles and hanging baskets. You’ll receive tips on feeding, pest control and compost. Plus, you’ll learn how to make the most of tiny spaces in your home, enabling you to become a more creative and resourceful urban gardener.

Alys Fowler is a horticulturist and journalist. She writes a weekly column for the Guardian, where she shares her wisdom on growing vegetables, fruits and flowers. Alys has been the presenter of long-running BBC television programme Gardeners’ World, and is the author of several books including The Edible Garden and Abundance. She tweets @AlysFowler.
