NEW YORK _ Buffalo Congressman Chris Collins is expected to plead guilty Tuesday in connection with an insider trading case.
A notice Monday morning on the docket for the case in Manhattan Federal Court indicated a "change of plea hearing" for Collins at 3 p.m.
The congressman was charged along with his son, Cameron Collins, and the father of his son's ex-fiancee, Stephen Zarsky. They are also expected to plead guilty in a separate hearing. The trio were accused in Aug. 2018 of illegally dumping shares of a biotech company, saving them nearly $800,000 in losses.
They had faced a trial starting February.
Following a recent hearing, Chris Collins said he had not yet decided whether to run for reelection in the district that includes the suburbs of Buffalo and Rochester.
"I've not decided if I'm going to run for reelection. I'm very confident if I do, I'll win," he said. "There's no rush."
