UPSRTC officers to adopt buses

LUCKNOW: UPSRTC has directed its officials to adopt buses for better upkeep and maintenance. Minister of state for transport (independent charge) Dayashanker Singh has asked the Assistant Regional Managers (ARMs) to adopt ten buses each and each of the Regional Managers and Service Managers adopt two buses. The buses will be adopted for a month's time after which the officials will adopt a new set of buses.

The criteria for adoption has also been fixed. Out of a certain number of buses plying on the same route those buses that report a lesser load factor (lesser number of passengers boarding the buses) will be chosen for adoption. Similarly, out of the buses operating for the same number of years the ones that consume more fuel will be adopted.

The buses will have to be physically fit within three days of adoption. The adopted buses will be monitored regularly by the official taking care of them on different parameters like cleanliness, maintenance, kilometerage, fuel consumption and earning.

The officials will hand over a monthly report to the nodal officers. The best performing officials will be incentivised.
