Upset woman follows thug as she begs him for her walking stick back

A thug snatched a woman's walking stick, forcing her to follow him until he threw it at her, breaking the stick.

The heartless incident, which happened in Warrington at the weekend, is being investigated as a hate crime by police.

The woman using the walking stick was standing outside the Gin and Lemon bar in Lymm between 11pm and 12am when a man approached her.

Cheshire Police said the man was part of a group and he asked if he could see the stick, to which the woman replied no but the man snatched it anyway.

The "upset" woman was forced to follow the man along the road toward the canal towpath, repeatedly asking for her stick back.

The man then threw the stick at her, which missed her, but damaged the stick in the process.

PC Samuel Clarke of Cheshire Police said: “Thankfully the stick missed the victim, but she has been left shaken and upset by this incident.

"This was a specially designed walking stick and now needs replacing thanks to the actions of this man.

“I’d urge anyone with CCTV or who was driving past and captured the incident on dash cam to contact police. If you have any information please contact us.”
