Upset Gareth Bale pulls out of Real Madrid trip after China transfer collapse

Gareth Bale has pulled out of Real Madrid’s trip to Munich following the collapse of his £1million-a-week move to China.

The Wales superstar, 30, has been left “too upset” to travel for the Audi Cup, in which Zinedine Zidane’s men face his Spurs on Tuesday night.

Bale’s only hope of preventing a season in which he is left rotting in the stands is a late swoop from a European club or the MLS.

Jiangsu Suning, the club that wanted to sign him, have now filled their final foreigner slot with the capture of Croatian striker Ivan Santini.

Bale is understood to be fuming at his treatment at the hands of Real boss Zidane and president Florentino Perez.

While Zidane has made it abundantly clear that Bale has no future at the club under his management, it was Real who called off the Chinese Super League move at the death.

To make matters worse for Bale, he has received no explanation regarding the U-turn or any reassurances over his role at Real.

Suning had already agreed terms with Bale and a deal with Real for a switch which would have smashed records and set a new benchmark for wages worldwide.

No club in Europe would be prepared to meet his £600,000-a-week wages or match the three-year deal Bale would have picked up in China.

Nor does Bale stand much chance of repairing his relationship with Zidane as the pair are not on speaking terms with the collapse of this week’s transfer  to helping matters.

Last week  Bale’s agent Jonathan Barnett labelled Zidane “a disgrace” for making his determination to get rid of the former Tottenham star public.

Since the collapse of this week’s move to Jiangsu, Barnett added: “It’s simple, Zidane doesn’t like Gareth. There’s no relationship between them.

There never has been.”
