Upper Newtownards Road: Section closed after 'pedestrian knocked down'

A pedestrian has been knocked down by a vehicle in East Belfast, it's understood.

Emergency services are at the scene on the Upper Newtownards Road on Thursday morning.

Trafficwatch NI tweeted: "A pedestrian has been knocked down on the [Upper] Newtownards [Road] at the Junction of Ravenscroft Ave. Emergency services are in attendance - Road users are advised to find alternative routes for their journeys."

A PSNI spokesperson added: "The Upper Newtownards Road is currently closed in both direction between the Holywood Arches and the junction of the Beersbridge Road, due to a road traffic collision.

"Diversions are in place are motorists are advised to seek an alternative route."
