Upper Newtownards Road crash: Cyclist taken to hospital after collision with car

One person has been taken to hospital after a road traffic collision in East Belfast on Sunday.

The incident occurred on the Upper Newtownards Road at the junction of the Castlehill Road on the afternoon of December 12.

A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed that a car and a cyclist were involved in the collision.

The cyclist was taken to hospital after the incident.

TrafficWatch NI said: "There has been a Collision between a cyclist and a vehicle on the #A20 Upper #Newtownards rd at the Jct of Castlehill Road - Lanes into town are currently blocked.

"Road users are advised to avoid the area and find an alternative route for their journey."

The Upper Newtownards Road has now been cleared but delays remain in the area.
