Upmarket Glasgow hair salon targeted by thieves as cops guard scene

Police have launched a probe after a boutique Glasgow hair salon was targeted by thieves this morning.

Officers were called to Mesart on Great Western Road in the west end of the city after the alarm was raised at around 5am on Tuesday, April 12.

Pictures taken from the scene this morning showed the glass front door of the premises smashed.

An officer could be seen standing guard while enquiries were carried out.

Police say their probe into the break-in is at an early stage, reports Glasgow Live.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 5.10am on Tuesday, April 12, police in Glasgow received a report of a break-in to a premises on Great Western Road, near to Burnbank Terrace.

"Enquiries into the matter are at an early stage."
