Upload Season 4: Everything We Know About The Prime Video Series' Final Season

Robbie Amell in Upload.

It doesn’t seem like it was all that long ago when we first heard about Upload, Greg Daniels’ Amazon original series that feels like if you took comedies like The Office and combined them with sci-fi thrillers like Black Mirror, but guys, it has been FIVE YEARS. And with Upload Season 4 right around the corner, it’s time to get ready to say goodbye to that funny yet terrifying and oftentimes poignant show about a man whose consciousness is uploaded into a digital resort after his death.

That’s right… Upload’s fourth and final season is on the way, and it will be on the 2025 TV schedule before you know it. So, if you want to see how things will conclude for Robbie Amell’s Nathan Brown and Andy Allo’s Nora Antony, or what the future holds for Lakeview and the real world, there’s actually quite a bit we’ve learned about the series’ last rodeo. Let’s break it all down…

What Is The Upload Season 4 Premiere Date?

It has been over two and a half years since we last walked through the digital doors of Lakeview in Upload Season 3, but we won’t have to wait all that much longer for Season 4. Amazon has announced that the popular show will return on August 25, 2025 for one final run before things wrap up for good.

How Many Episodes Are There In Upload Season 4?

Though the first three seasons of Upload have featured anywhere from seven to 10 episodes apiece, the show’s final run will be much, much shorter. Amazon has announced that the Prime Video original series will conclude with a four-episode run, with all chapters being available on the same day.

Those who have been following the Upload Season 4 development the past year or so may recall that a shortened season was teased long ago. When speaking with Deadline after news of the show’s renewal in early 2024, Robbie Amell revealed that he was “very excited” to be able to wrap things up properly, though he was saddened about a possibly “shortened season,” stating:

So I’m very excited. Sadly, I think it’s going to be a shortened season, but it will be a season with a send-off and closure. I think TV shows, in general, are very hard to make, and to get to end something is very lucky.

While it is sad to see Upload come to an end, especially with it being so short, at least the series is able to properly wrap things up before going dark.

When Upload Season 4 premieres, we can expect to see those fan-favorites return to the digital afterlife. Let’s look at everyone who has been announced so far, including Robbie Amell and Andy Allo.

Robbie Amell as Nathan Brown

Robbie Amell has played Nathan Brown ever since the 20-something computer engineer died and was sent to live out his digital afterlife at Lakeview. We don’t know how he’ll be playing Nathan and Back-Up Nathan again (if at all), but we can’t wait to see more of the Code 8 star in action.

Andy Allo as Nora Antony

Andy Alla will be back again as Nora Antony, Nathan’s afterlife handler and love interest from previous seasons of Upload. Though the season will end things for her character, the singer and star of the recently released sci-fi action flick, Absolute Dominion, looks to be busy moving forward.

Kevin Bigley as Luke Crossley

Luke Crossley, one of Nathan’s best friends and closest confidants at Lakeview, will once again be portrayed by Sirens and Animal Control star Kevin Bigley.

Allegra Edwards as Ingrid

Allegra Edwards, who has played Nathan’s wealthy and multi-faceted girlfriend throughout the series, will once again be back for Upload Season 4.

Zainab Johnson as Aleesha Morrison-Downey

Zainab Johnson’s Aleesha Morrison-Downey has been a part of Upload from the beginning, and that will once again be the case with the show’s fourth season, as she’ll still be helping hold things down in the real world.

Owen Daniels as A.I. Guy

Owen Daniels’ A.I. Guy, one of the funniest characters in the entire show, will be back one more time for Upload Season 4. How many new variations of the character we’ll be seeing is anyone’s guess.

When Can We Expect The Upload Season 4 Trailer?

It is wild that we didn’t get to see an Upload Season 4 trailer when Amazon hosted its upfront presentation in May 2025, and even wilder that the streamer hasn’t dropped a teaser ahead of the show’s return in August. Nothing has been announced about a possible teaser, but considering we’re weeks away from the Season 4 premiere, it shouldn’t be too much longer before we get to see what’s in store for Nathan, Nora, and all those other beloved characters.

What Is Upload Season 4 About?

One of the biggest questions surrounding Upload Season 4 all along has been about how the show will wrap things up and what will happen before the credits roll one final time. Well, in July 2025, Amazon revealed the official synopsis for the fourth and final season:

In the four-part series finale event, sentient AI rapidly turns evil, threatening to wipe out Lakeview (and the world!). On top of greedy executives, lingering mysteries, plus heartbreak in VR and IRL, our characters are tested like never before. The only way they can get through it all and save humanity from deletion is by teaming up one last time.

With only four episodes to execute one of the most ambitious storylines in the show’s history, it sounds like each chapter is going to be crammed full of tension, danger, and so much charming comedy.

How Upload Season 3 Ended

SPOILER WARNING: The following section contains major spoilers for Upload Season 3. If you aren’t caught up with the Amazon sci-fi comedy series, please exercise caution or skip to the next section.

We previously went into all the nitty-gritty details of the Upload Season 3 finale, where we broke down all the big moments, but for now, we’ll provide a summary of the major talking points and how they may impact the final chapter.

In the final minutes of “Flesh and Blood,” when it looked like everything was going to be on the up-and-up for both versions of Nathan after exposing Horizen’s various crimes, they were both captured, with only one surviving to tell the tale. But in standard fashion for the series, we were all left wondering which one survived as the credits began to roll.

How To Watch Upload

When Upload eventually comes back for one final season, you’ll be able to watch it all on Prime Video with an Amazon subscription, which has been the case for the series all along. If you want to go back and revisit everything that’s happened so far, or finally get caught up after putting it off for so long, now’s your golden opportunity before we wrap things up on one of the most inventive and hilarious shows of the 2020s.

Stream Upload on Prime Video.

Be on the lookout for more about Upload Season 4 in the coming weeks, especially when it comes to the first (and possibly only) trailer ahead of the show’s return in August.
