The Wallasey Tunnel is currently closed in both directions due to a "police incident."
North West Motorway Police posted a statement on Twitter at 6.51am warning drivers about the closure of the Kingsway Tunnel. All entrances have been blocked by tunnel police.
A spokesperson said: "The Wallasey Tunnel is currently closed in both direction whilst Tunnels Police deal with a police incident."

Signs at each of the entrances direct drivers to use the Birkenhead/Queensway Tunnel. It is unclear what the incident is and when the tunnel will reopen.
