Ireland moves back to modified level three restrictions from next week and a number of sports will resume across the country.

Hundreds of amateur and children’s leagues nationwide that have been on pause for nearly six weeks and that will remain the case.

Approved inter-county Gaelic games, horse-racing, professional rugby and equestrian events can take place behind closed doors.

The All-Ireland hurling and football finals will take place at an empty Croke Park next month.

Indoor contact sports such as basketball appear to be in the dark over a potential return to action.
