Updated 2020 NFL Draft order with trade value chart

Wondering what the Dolphins might be able to do with all their ammunition in the 2020 NFL Draft? The Dolphins, with three 1st-round picks and six picks in the top-70, are loaded to the teeth and ready to rumble in this year’s draft, which kicks off in two and a half weeks.

For Miami, much of the narrative has centered around whether or not this team could make a big splash and jump up to take a quarterback — be it LSU’s Joe Burrow in a shocking deal or to flip picks with Detroit to ensure the team can secure the second quarterback in this year’s draft.

How does the math look for such propositions? The Dolphins far and away have the league’s most NFL Draft capital — but don’t take our word for it. The Jimmy Johnson Trade Value Chart provides teams with some kind of index on what certain picks are worth. Miami? They’ve got an embarrassment of riches.

4,529 points — one and a half times the value of the number one overall pick in the NFL Draft. No other team comes with 500+ points of the Dolphins — meaning this team is comfortably going to be able to bully trade negotiations if they want to make a splash. An even more enticing option? What if this team adds more? Miami will have a chance to parlay some of this surplus of picks into the future too — and Miami already owns two 1st-round picks and two 2nd-round picks in the 2021 NFL Draft courtesy of the team’s blockbuster dealing of OT Laremy Tunsil to the Houston Texans before the season started in 2019.
