Update on man fighting for life after being stabbed in chest

A man who was stabbed in the chest almost two weeks ago remains in a critical condition.

The 24-year-old victim was rushed to hospital after being stabbed at around 6.30pm on Saturday, March 11. Merseyside police issued an update on his condition today, confirming he remains in hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed in the chest and legs.

He is being described as being critical but stable. Detectives visited the scene, on Carr Lane East, Croxteth, after the incident and three people were arrested.

A 44-year-old man, from Liverpool, was held on suspicion of attempted murder and two women, from Liverpool, aged 46 and 49, were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and section 18 wounding with intent.

Speaking after the incident, detective inspector Neil Dillon said: "We are currently in the early stages of an investigation after a man was stabbed in West Derby last night. We believe there was an altercation at an address on Carr Lane East that has resulted in a man suffering stab wounds.

"We currently have three people in custody but our enquiries remain ongoing. If you have any information that could assist us with our ongoing investigation, including dash cam footage from the area at the time of the incident, please get in touch. Natalie Bennett, 46, of Carr Lane East was charged with Section 18 wounding and appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court yesterday. Two other people arrested have been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.
