Update on future of Bristol City target also linked with Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday as contract is offered

Jordan Willis has been offered a new contract by Coventry City.

The defender is a wanted man, with a number of clubs said to be interested in him, including Bristol City.

He is out of contract at the Sky Blues, but they are keen to keep him and have offered him a new deal.

However, their chances appear to be slim, with multiple clubs reportedly chasing his signature.

Luton Town are believed to be leading the way to sign him, with the newly-promoted club spotted scouting Coventry in their game against Bristol Rovers earlier this season.

The Robins have also been credited with an interest, along with Sheffield Wednesday, Derby County and Hull City, meaning there is lots of competition for his signature.

Sheffield United's Premier League promotion could ruin Bristol City's pursuit of long-term transfer target

Portsmouth are also rumoured to be keeping tabs on the situation, but their interest likely depends on whether they can win promotion to the Championship via the play-offs.

Willis is available to clubs on a free transfer.

Despite Coventry offering him a contract, they would not be entitled to compensation for him due to the fact he is over 24.
