Update on Chargers’ Russell Okung coming this Wednesday

The poor outings from the offensive line the past few weeks has had many fans with one question in the back of their minds: What’s the status of offensive tackle Russell Okung?

There’s a possibility we are going to find the answer to that question and whether or not Okung will suit up this season in the coming days.

Coach Anthony Lynn said that he “will know more” about Okung on Wednesday.

Okung announced that he had been suffering with a pulmonary embolism this summer, which led to Los Angeles placing him on the reserve/non-football illness list.

After six weeks, Okung is eligible to start practicing again. The question now becomes if he is healthy enough to come back this week or even for the rest of the season.

Having Okung back is well-needed given the offensive line woes, but his health is the No. 1 priority and there’s no need to rush him when what he was dealing with is pretty significant.
