Update on body of newborn baby found in garden in Weston-super-Mare

Two people arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a newborn baby boy was found in a garden in Weston-super-Mare have been released under investigation.

Police arrested a man and a woman on suspicion of murder after the body was discovered by a member of the public in a garden in Victoria Quadrant in the seaside town on December 12.

The man and woman have now been released under investigation.

An Avon and Somerset Police spokesman said: “Two people have been released under investigation and enquiries continue.”

Police have confirmed that the investigation remains a homicide as the cause of death has not yet been confirmed.
