Arsenal are believed to be unlikely to pursue a bid for Joe Worrall at this stage.
The Nottingham Forest central defender was linked with a January move to the Premier League giants this week on the back of a stunning season thus far.
However, NottinghamshireLive understands the Gunners might well be keeping tabs on Worrall, but they are not in the market for a central defender in the upcoming transfer window, despite their defensive struggles.
Worrall would be an attractive option as a young English player but he does not fit the Arsenal mould as a primarily ball playing central defender.
Should manager Unai Emery be sacked, as looks increasingly likely, then the picture could change, but Arsenal currently have Sokratis Papastathopoulos and David Luiz as their first choice defenders with Rob Holding and Shkrodan Mustafi in reserve.

Worrall has featured in 19 out 20 games in all competitions this season having firmly re-established himself at the City Ground after a season-long loan at Rangers last season.
He was in the side on Wednesday night as Forest won 4-0 at QPR to go fourth in the Championship.
They are under no pressure to sell having banked £8m when Arvin Appiah moved to Almeria in the summer and Worrall is a die hard Reds fan so is unlikely to have his head turned by rumours heading into the new year.
