Update from South Lanarkshire Council regarding arrangements for schooling

South Lanarkshire Council this morning issued an update on schooling to parents.

It comes after Deputy First Minister John Swinney told the Scottish Parliament yesterday that exams will not go ahead this year because of the coronavirus crisis.

And earlier in the week, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon said schools and nurseries would close from today (Friday).

The council put a post on Facebook which read: “We know many people are concerned about school arrangements for their children.

“We’re currently giving careful consideration to the support we’ll provide to key workers and vulnerable children and we’re working to put a clear plan in place.

“We’ll provide a further update as soon as we’re able to give more information on these arrangements.”
