Bolton Wanderers could make Accrington Stanley's Dion Charles their first signing of the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old is out of contract next summer and is currently not being considered for selection by Stanley at present as he has not put pen to paper on a fresh deal at the club in a 'Mexican stand-off' as described by Accrington boss John Coleman.
The Stanley boss has confirmed that Charles will be sold in the January transfer window, should an acceptable offer be made for the Northern Ireland international.

Evatt has spoken about the links that have been made between his club and Charles and confirmed the Accrington striker is a player Wanderers are aware of and would be of interest to Bolton.
He told the Manchester Evening News: “Dion is a player I am fully aware of – he was actually a youngster at Blackpool while I was a player there.
"Obviously he scored 20 odd goals for Accrington at this level last season. He’s a player we like of course, so that’s something that we are kind of interested in."
With Charles still under contract at Accrington and if that is not cancelled, then a transfer fee would be required to bring the forward to Wanderers.
Wanderers are now able to do such a thing after an embargo on signing players for transfer fees expired.
And according to Alan Nixon of the Sun, Wanderers could be paying 'around £300,000 for Charles' services.
If that were the case, Charles would be the first player Bolton have paid a transfer fee for since Josh Magennis joined the club in the summer of 2018 from Charlton Athletic.
