Police have issued an update on their investigation into an attempted armed robbery.
Officers had been on patrol in Islington in Liverpool city centre at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, March 1, when they heard a disturbance. They established that the noise was coming from a nearby premises on Kempston Street.
Police carried out enquiries inside the property and found that an attempted armed robbery had taken place. They also found an imitation firearm at the scene.

Two men and a woman were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences. A 48-year-old man, from Anfield, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
A 40-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, both from Everton, were arrested on suspicion of robbery. The three suspects are still in custody and being questioned by police.
Merseyside police said all three people have now been bailed until dates from May 27 to 29.
