Upcoming Irish rapper Craig Cooney to play first headline show in Workman's Club on Saturday night

Upcoming Irish rapper Craig Cooney is set to headline The Workman's Club on January 11th alongside Aaron J from Ireland's Got Talent.

The rap artist from Kildare played in a line up with Gavin James and Wild Youth at the FM104 charity concert The Gig at the Olympia Theatre.

His first release, Proud, kicked off Cooney's music path and has released Incredible, Coming Home and Home since.

Cooney hopes his first headliner will be one to remember.

The talented rapper won the musicians category of the Talent Nation Competition held in TwentyTwo Dublin.

He told DublinLive.ie: "Since I released Proud I have gotten massive attention. FM104 started playing my songs regularly along with multiple interviews.

"I entered the Talent Nation Competition and cometed against thousands of other entrants, I was lucky enough to walk away as the winner of the musicians category which had the largest numbers of entries for a category.

"I was also selected to perform at Fm104s The Gig in aid of ISPCC Childlines help a Dublin child appeal which took place in the Olympia Theatre where I performed alongside Gavin James, Wild Youth, Chasing Abbey, Soulé and Wyvern Lingo."

The line up includes well known rapper Aaron J as well as Wax White, Blain and Aideen Farrelly.

Tickets can be purchased for the gig here.
