Upcoming Disney Movies: Full List Of Titles And Release Dates

Sam Wilson (Anthony Mackie) is in the middle of a battle in Captain America: Brave New World.

For more than 100 years, the Walt Disney Company has been producing great films. No other studio has built quite the identity that the Mouse House has. When somebody uses the phrase “Disney Movie,” you know exactly what they mean. Every new release from Disney is an event, whether or not it ever becomes a hit.

Disney’s slate on the 2025 movie schedule has already been a winner, with the live-action Lilo & Stitch breaking the coveted $1 billion dollar global box office mark. The future for Disney, even without looking at upcoming Marvel movies and upcoming Star Wars projects, continues to look bright. Here’s a look at everything on the 2025 movie schedule, and beyond, from Disney.

Tron: Ares

Release Date: October 10, 2025

The Tron franchise has had a rough time at the movies, and yet, the program refuses to end. The long-anticipated, and long-believed-dead third Tron movie, Ares, starring Jared Leto, will hit theaters soon. Based on the trailers, a great deal of Tron: Ares will actually take place in our world rather than the computer world we’re used to seeing. Franchise star Jeff Bridges will return, despite seemingly dying in Tron: Legacy. Nine Inch Nails is handling the score, taking over from Daft Punk, who handled the iconic music of Tron: Legacy.

Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere

Release date: October 24, 2025

The rock star biopic is often a crowd pleaser, and based on early buzz, Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, will be no exception. This biopic of The Boss stars Jeremy Allen White as Springsteen, and the film focuses on the creation of the historic Nebraska album, which is often credited as the one that transformed the working class singer from performer to rock star.

Predator: Badlands

Release Date: November 7, 2025

Following the incredible Prey, director Dan Trachtenberg has returned to the Predator franchise for the new film Predator: Badlands. Unlike the previous installment, the new film will be a big screen release, starring Elle Fanning. It will also be the first film in the franchise to see the Predator as the protagonist.

Rental Family

Release Date: November 21, 2025

Brendan Fraser made one of the most incredible Hollywood comebacks in recent memory with his Oscar-winning turn in The Whale. Now he’s ready for his big follow-up in Rental Family, where Fraser plays an American renting himself out as a friend to people in Japan, and becoming a bigger part of their lives than he anticipated.

Zootopia 2

Release Date: November 26, 2025

After the first Zootopia made $1 billion at the box office, the sequel was only a matter of time. Previously confirmed for a 2025 release, in the summer of 2024, it was revealed that the movie will introduce reptile characters in the mammal city. The plot of Zootopia 2 will see Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde attempt to track down a snake named Gary, voiced by Oscar winner Ke Huy Quan. A sneak peek at D23 also revealed a location not seen in the previous film, Marsh Market.

Ella McCay

Release date: December 12, 2025

James L. Brooks, who has written and directed some of the biggest movies in Hollywood history, from Terms of Endearment to Broadcast News to As Good as it Gets, takes on his first film in over a decade with Ella McCay. Emma Mackey stars as a 34-year-old Lieutenant Governor who finds herself posed to take over the state’s top job amid personal and professional struggles. Jamie Lee Curtis co-stars as McCay’s mother.

Avatar: Fire & Ash

Release Date: December 19, 2025

The Avatar films have previously shown us the jungles and the oceans of the world of Pandora. We know Avatar: Fire and Ash will take us to a new biome, the volcanic home of the Na’Vi known as the Ash people. At D23 in 2024, the film’s title was officially revealed, seemingly hinting that Jake and Myteiri’s family will deal with some sort of cataclysm, as well as its aftermath.

Is This Thing On?

Release Date: December 19, 2025

Fox will provide counter programming for itself when the latest directorial effort from Bradley Cooper comes out the same day as Avatar: Fire and Ash. Is This Thing On? stars Will Arnett and Laura Dern as a couple figuring out how to live their new lives after going through divorce.

Release Date: January 16, 2026

Disney has announced it will release a movie on this date in order to hold the date, but no specific title has been announced.

Send Help

Release Date: January 30, 2026

Sam Raimi returns to the horror genre with his upcoming film, Send Help. The thriller stars Rachel McAdams as a woman who must find a way to survive after she and her boss end up on a remote island following a plane crash.

Psycho Killer

Release Date: February 20, 2026

Based on a script by Seven scribe Andrew Kevin Walker, Psycho Killer stars Georgina Campbell as a police officer hunting a serial killer. The film has been in development since 2007, but is finally making its way to the screen as the directorial debut of producer Gavin Polone.

Hoppers

Release Date: March 6, 2026

Hoppers follows a 19-year-old animal lover named Mabel as she switches minds with a beaver, allowing her to interact with the animal world. While Pixar has had difficulty with original concepts of late, perhaps the creativity of We Bare Bears creator Daniel Chong is what’s been missing.

The Dog Stars

Release Date: March 27, 2026

Based on the novel of the same name, Ridley Scott directs the science fiction movie that sees most of the world wiped out following a catastrophic flu pandemic. Jacob Elordi, Margaret Qualley, Josh Brolin and Guy Piece are among the major names attached to this one.

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come

Release Date: April 10, 2026

The long anticipated follow up to Ready or Not, the sequel will pick up immediately following the events of the first film, which saw Samara Weaving as a bride hunted by game-obsessed family.

Hoppers

Release Date: March 6, 2026

We don't know much about Hoppers yet beyond the fact that it will see a human transfer her consciousness to a robot beaver so that she may live among animals. It's a wild premise, but Pixar has done more with less before.

The Devil Wears Prada 2

Release Date: May 1, 2026

The Devil Wears Prada is an iconic film in the careers of Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt, and more, so fans will be excited to know that basically everybody who made the original film so great will be back for the upcoming sequel.

Toy Story 5

Release Date: June 19, 2026

At D23 2024, we finally got some details about the fifth Toy Story movie that had been previously announced. Andrew Stanton, who co-wrote all the previous Toy Story films, will direct, as well as write the new movie. Among the Toy Story 5 details we have, we know the plot will revolve around the toys dealing with the growing importance of technology in their lives. Some 50 out-of-control Buzz Lightyear toys will also fit into the plot.

Moana (Live-Action)

Release Date: July 10, 2026

Knowing how successful live-action remakes of Disney movies are, we probably could have guessed that a live-action Moana would happen someday, but few probably expected it to happen so fast. Less than a decade after the animated hit was released, the live-action version is set to debut. Dwayne Johnson will reprise his role in the flesh as Maui. Auli'i Cravalho will not be back on screen, opening the door for another newcomer to make a splash, but the original Moana is involved as a producer.

Whalefall

Release date: October 16, 2026

Based on the novel of the same name, Whalefall follows a man scuba diving in search of his fathers remains, who is accidentally swallowed by a whale, and must find a way to escape.

Hexed

Release Date: November 25, 2026

Announced during Disney’s Destination D23 event in August 2025, Hexed is an original story from Walt Disney Animation Studios that follows a young boy and his “Type-A” mother who discover that the reason the boy is so weird is that he has magical abilities. This discovery leads them to a world where magic can run free.

Ice Age: Boiling Point

Release Date: February 5, 2027

It’s been almost a decade since the last main entry in the Ice Age franchise, but Disney never met a film series it didn’t love. The newest entry in the Ice Age franchise is subtitled Boiling Point. At this point no details are known, but the core cast of the films are all expected to return.

Gatto

Release Date: June 18, 2027

The upcoming original Pixar title is set in Venice and focuses on a cat named Nero who needs to pay back a debt to a feline mob boss. This leads Nero into an unlikely partnership with a street musician.

Bluey

Release Date: August 6, 2027

Bluey, the Australian animated kids show, has proven to be a hit for all ages and is regularly among the most-watched shows on Disney+. Disney will also distribute a feature-length Bluey movie in 2027. We don’t know anything about what the movie will actually be about, but considering how loved Bluey is, it probably doesn’t matter.

Frozen 3

Release Date: November 24, 2027

We’ve known for a while that Frozen 3 was in development at Disney, but fans will need to wait a bit longer to see it. The Frozen 3 release date for November 2027. In addition, at D23 Disney Animation head Jennifer Lee confirmed that the story is so big it will require two movies, though when we’ll see the second one is anybody’s guess.

Avatar 4

Release Date: December 21, 2029

James Cameron has said that parts of Avatar 4 were filmed alongside Avatar: The Way of Water and Avatar: Fire and Ash, but another massive production will need to get underway to finish out the five-movie cycle. One certainly hopes that it won’t take as long to happen as it did to make the first sequel.

Avatar 5

Release Date: December 19, 2031

The final Avatar movie will finally arrive in 2031, assuming there are not more delays, and Cameron doesn’t get it in his head to write more sequels.

While all of this is, of course, subject to change, and there are a lot of “Untitled” movies we know literally nothing about, there’s plenty here that is likely to keep Disney on top of the box office for several more years to come. Continue below for a look back at recently released Disney films.

Freakier Friday

Release Date: August 8, 2025

A sequel to Disney’s Freaky Friday remake seemed to be something a lot of people wanted, and after years of asking for it, they got it. The movie, Freakier Friday, saw Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan return as the body-switching mother and child. While not a massive blockbuster. The movie scratched the nostalgia itch of many of those who saw it.

Elio

Release Date: June 13, 2025

Pixar’s Elio is the story of an 11-year-old boy who attempts to get abducted by aliens, and ultimately gets his wish. Newcomer Yonas Kibreab voiced Elio, while Zoe Saldana voiced the boy’s aunt. Originally, Coco co-director Adrian Molina was set to direct, but he was replaced by the team of Turning Red’s Domee Shi and Madaline Sharafina after the film was delayed a full year. Despite the changes, Elio became the latest in a long line of Pixar original concepts to have trouble finding an audience.

Lilo & Stitch (Live-Action)

Release Date: May 23, 2025

Lilo & Stitch is the latest in the long line of Disney animated films to get the remake treatment. However, unlike Snow White fans were excited for this one. The movie has grossed more than $1 billion at the global box office making it the highest grossing Hollywood movie of the year so far. The cast includes Maia Kealoha as Lilo, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani and Kaipot Dudoit as David, who will star alongside a CGI Stitch.

The Amateur

Release Date: April 11, 2025

This 20th Century Studios project starred Rami Malek as a CIA cryptographer who goes after the terrorists who killed his wife when his agency refuses to help. The film saw lukewarm reviews from critics, though audiences seemed to embrace it more.

Disney's Snow White

Release Date: March 21, 2025

Snow White was supposed to be Disney’s next big live-action remake hit. Despite casting big names like Rachel Zegler as the title character and Gal Gadot as the evil queen, audiences didn’t seem to want this one, as the movie bombed hard at the box office.
