Arsenal could look to bring in a central defender when the summer transfer window opens and have been linked with a host of new faces.
Dayot Upamecano of RB Leipzig has been a constant name being linked to the Gunners; likewise, Merih Demiral of Juventus.
Demiral’s Juventus team-mate Daniele Rugani has also been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium and Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka.
With these four being linked with a move to north London, football.london looks at who has performed the best statistically for their club this season.
The Bundesliga pair lead the way for the majority of the statistics, but it’s worth noting that between them; Rugani and Demiral have only made eight Serie A appearances this season.
Whereas, Upamecano has made 21 Bundesliga appearances and N’Dicka just six less with 15 games under his belt.
Upamecano has the most successful defensive actions with 180, and the most per 90 minutes, with 8.28.
The Leipzig defender has caught the eye this season in the Bundesliga and the Champions League but is yet to make his first France appearance.
The 21-year-old sits comfortably on top in terms of aerial duels won, winning 41 in total and averages 2.90 per match.
However, Upamecano has committed the most fouls with 17, but only gives away 0.78 per 90 minutes as opposed to Rugani, who gives away 1.24 fouls on average.
N’Dicka averages the highest amount of possession losses in his own half per game, with the Frankfurt defender guilty of doing that 4.22 times in 90 minutes.
Upamecano sits on top of the loose balls won category as well, winning 53 – more than double the second-place – which is N’Dicka with 25.
None of the selected players have been shown a red card yet this campaign, but Upamecano leads the way in terms of the yellow card count, with the Frenchman being booked five times.
Passing-wise, the Leipzig man also leads the way – with 61.98 passes completed per 90 minutes – with N’Dicka bottom of the list with just 32.83.

Upamecano has a 90.1% passing accuracy, but it isn’t as good as Demiral; who boasts a 95.5% success rate when it comes to passing.
The 21-year-old looks like the ideal option to partner William Saliba when his loan deal at Saint-Etienne ends and he joins his parent club Arsenal.
Upamecano’s current deal at Leipzig runs out in the summer of 2021, which could slightly decrease his market value.
