Up to 50 new jobs set to be created as top High Street name prepares to move onto North Staffordshire retail park

North Staffordshire shoppers will be able to get their hands on even more bargains when a popular High Street retailer opens a new store.

Home Bargains' parent company TJ Morris has agreed to move into the former PC World unit on Festival Park, in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent in a move which could create up to 50 new jobs.

PC World moved out of the building in 2016, and it was later occupied temporarily by Furniture Outlet, but the unit has been vacant since last year.

Now Home Bargains - which stocks everything from toys to furniture and food - is expected to spend around £2 million renovating the store ahead of its opening.

The original legal agreement for Festival Park restricted the development to just one food store - with Morrisons currently fulfilling that role.

But Stoke-on-Trent City Council has now confirmed that the Home Bargains store will be permitted under the agreement - provided no more than 30 per cent of floorspace is dedicated to selling food.
