LUCKNOW: A woman lodged an FIR on Thursday, against her husband and in-laws, accusing them of pronouncing triple talaq in a single sitting.
The woman, a resident of Sitapur, alleged that her husband, Naimullah, demanded a car and cash in dowry and when she expressed inability to meet their demands, Naimullah subjected her to mental and physical torture and pronounced triple talaq in a single sitting.
“Soon after marriage, Naimullah along with his brother, Armaan, her mother in-law Taiyba, sister-in-law Nida, and father-in-law, Nafisullah, unleashed torture on her,” said the woman in her complaint to police. SHO, Kotwali, Tej Pratap Singh, said an FIR has been registered under the triple talaq law along with dowry harassment charges.
