UP: SBSP chief OP Rajbhar seeks ST status for Rajbhar community

LUCKNOW: Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) national president OP Rajbhar said that UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath is working for the betterment of the backward community in the state.

Rajbhar had met Adityanath on Tuesday and urged him to include Rajbhar caste in ST category.

On Wednesday, he said that the CM has agreed to look into the demand.

"CM has directed the social welfare department to solve the issues regarding the Rajbhar caste," he said.

The SBSP chief said that both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the chief minister are working for the welfare of the backwards.

"I also requested the CM to not allow razing down of the houses of the poor on the pretext of action against the mafia", he added.

Rajbhar also appealed to his party MLA Abbas Ansari to surrender wherever he is, denying that he had any discussion with the CM on the matter.

SBSP will take out a Savdhan Yatra from September 26.

"I will go to the district and make people aware," SBSP chief said.

He hit out at the Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav and said that he did nothing for the backwards in the state.

SBSP was the ally of Samajwadi Party in the 2022 UP assembly elections.
