LUCKNOW: Durga puja and Dussehra passed off peacefully in the state. Police said that not even a single incident of violence was reported across the state.
Additional director general of police, Law and Order, Prashant Kumar attributed it to the coordinated efforts of the police, administration and the citizens of the state.
Kumar said drones were used to monitor sensitive areas where incidents were reported in the past. The officer also said from 38 incidents of violence being reported in 2016, not a single incident has been reported in 2021.
Specific guidelines and directions were issued to Balrampur district which had reported five incidents of violence in 2016, but from the last two years not a single incident was reported, the officer added.
“As many as 183 companies of Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and five companies of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were also deployed in different parts of the state to avert and control any law and order issue,” said the ADG LO.
The officer said one month back, a review was done by the DGP about the incidents in 2018 and 2019 in the state during the immersion of Durga puja idols and Dussehra.
