UP: Kangana Ranaut to be ODOP brand ambassador

LUCKNOW: Film actor Kangana Ranaut has been appointed the brand ambassador for UP government’s flagship ‘One District-One Product’ scheme for promotion of local handicraft and traditional industries.

Ranaut met chief minister Yogi Adityanath at his residence on Friday evening over what officials called a ‘formal’ meeting. “The CM gifted Ranaut with some ODOP products as well,” a government spokesperson said.

Additional Chief Secretary (MSME) Navneet Sehgal announced on Twitter: “Famous actress Kangna Ranaut met Yogi Adityanath, CM of UP, who presented her with an ODOP product. Kangna ji will be our Brand Ambassador for ODOP.”

ODOP scheme major factor behind 35% rise in UP's export

The ODOP scheme was launched in 2018 with one product identified from each of the state’s 75 districts which the government would then promote through training, marketing, branding etc. The scheme has been a major factor behind 35% rise in UP's export this year.
