LUCKNOW: The state reported seven fresh cases of Covid-19 on Monday, with Gautam Budh Nagar accounting for the highest number at four. The district currently has the highest number of active cases of Covid at 31.
One case each was also reported from Meerut, Auraiya and Hardoi. The state also saw seven patients recover from the virus which has left UP with 99 active cases. No deaths were reported for the same duration. The state has seen 22,909 patients succumb to the virus till now, since the first case was reported in early 2020.
A government spokesperson said that 1,21,614 samples were tested for Covid in 24 hours on Sunday.
“Gautam Budh Nagar has been reporting the highest number of fresh cases in UP for the past few days, which could do with the fact that it is adjoining Delhi where a slight increase in positivity rates has been witnessed since the end of the festival season. Lucknow has the second highest number of active cases at 14 while Prayagraj has 10 active cases. Both cities did not report any fresh case on Monday,” said a spokesperson.
