Up For Review has died at Aintree today in 2019 Grand National

Up For Review has died after falling in the 2019 Grand National according to ITV Racing.

General Principle, which was pulled up, has been taken from the course in a horse ambulance.

There has not been an equine fatality in the Grand National title race since 2012, when both Synchronised and According To Pete were euthanised.

Since then changes have been made to improve the welfare of horses around Aintree , including adapting and rebuilding fences, facilities and stables.

Yesterday, two horses were euthanised after running in two different races.

Forest des Aigles was injured while travelling on the flat during the Topham Chase.

Crucial Roll fell while racing in the Mildmay Novices' Chase earlier on Ladies Day.

Up For Review was ridden in the Grand National by jockey Danny Mullins. His trainer was William Mullins.
