UP declared most favourable film shooting state

LUCKNOW: Uttar Pradesh was adjudged India’s most favorable state for film shooting at the 52nd International Film Festival of India-2021 in Goa.

ACS, information, Navneet Sehgal, received the award from Union information and broadcasting minister Anurag Singh Thakur and Goa CM Pramod Sawant on Sunday at the closing ceremony of the IFFI.

‘Tender process for Film City to begin soon’

Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of Noida International Airport, Jewar. The state government is developing a film city on an area of 1,000 acre near this project. Efforts have been made to provide all the necessary facilities related to film production including pre-production, post-production, shooting under one roof in this film city,” Sehgal added.

The additional chief secretary said that an investment of more than Rs 10,000 crore is estimated in the film city.

Inviting film production houses to invest in the Film City, he said that the tender process is being started for this. The state government will not take any money for the land in Film City, but arrangements will be made to give the land on licence. Annual rent will be determined for the given land.

The ACS said that for the purpose of film production, there is a vast culture and heritage in Uttar Pradesh.

“The glorious history of the state, its splendid architecture, rich traditions and diversity of local cultures make our state a great center of attraction for film-making. Uttar Pradesh is a great destination from the point of view of film production. Film Policy-2018 has been implemented to encourage the film industry in the state.
