LUCKNOW: As a part of its backward caste outreach, BJP will organise the backward class convention on Sunday in Lucknow. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will address the convention and list achievements of the state government. All senior leaders of the party will be present.
The chief minister will highlight the state and Central government’s welfare schemes for backward classes and recount top positions held by OBCs in the party organisation.
Apart from backward class conventions, BJP is also set to organise over 200 caste-based conferences in October and November, ahead of the assembly polls early next year. At these events, party leaders from UP and other states will reach out to respective communities and list achievements of the state and Centre in uplift of deprived sections of society.
