LUCKNOW: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday held a meeting with BJP MPs, MLAs and organizational workers of the Awadh Kshetra of the party to discuss plans to reach out to the voters ahead of the state assembly elections.
UP BJP has already initiated programmes to connect with voters and inform them about the achievements of the state government in the last four-and-a-half years and also the welfare schemes and policies of the central government.
“The meeting was completely interactive and was meant to boost connectivity between the party’s organizational workforce and people’s representatives. The two have to work together to ensure party’s victory in elections. Everyone got the change to clear doubts and iron out differences, if any,” a source said.
One of the objectives of the meeting was to tell people’s representatives to meet the voters who supported them in the previous election.
“Though the party leaders are already doing it, it was emphasised that the effort should be sincere,” a party office-bearer said.
Suggestions were sought from MPs, MLAs and party workers on how to reach out to people better. The party has already planned 26 sammelans with different social groups. It also launched ‘Main Bhi Panna Pramukh’ campaign on Friday.
