LUCKNOW: After coming under attack by the Opposition on several deaths that have taken place in parts of western UP due to a fever, government spokesperson Sidharth Nath Singh said that Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav were only shedding crocodile tears.
“These so called leaders sit in their air-conditioned rooms and comment on issues. This is exactly what they did during the second wave of Covid-19 at a time when the state government was taking all measures to provide relief to people. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath reached Firozabad promptly to oversee the health facilities and also visited flood-affected areas in eastern UP but Opposition leaders have been absent during the hour of need,” Singh said.
Accepting that there was some carelessness on the part of doctors, the minister said that the CM took action against them, including the chief medical officer, and nodal officers have been appointed to keep a check in all districts.
He added that dengue and other seasonal diseases including viral fever will be treated free of cost in government hospitals.
“People have seen through the evil designs of the Opposition and therefore unseated them from power. People need constant support and compassion which is being provided by the Yogi Adityanath government at every level. Congress has been rejected for decades and SP is going to meet the same fate. These parties should take lessons in public service from Yogi Adityanath,” the government spokesperson said.
