Up 33, the Jazz intentionally fouled to prevent Devin Booker from getting 60 points

Playing for an injury-ravaged Suns team and down 33 points to the Utah Jazz, Devin Booker was sitting on 59 points with 18 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. With no chance to win the game, one would imagine that Booker would have wanted to take the ball up the court and get a shot off. He wouldn’t win, but 60 points wouldn’t be a bad consolation prize.

The Jazz – the sweet, petty Jazz – were not going to allow that to happen, however. They intentionally fouled another player (up 33 points!) to prevent Booker from getting a shot off.

Booker finished with 59.

Here’s the play as it happened:

The pettiness. The unabashed pettiness.

The Suns, who are 17-58 on the season and could have used something nice happening, ended up losing by the same score, 125-92. Booker didn’t get 60. The Jazz are cruel. Cruel as all get out.
