SONGKHLA: Another New Year's Eve, another stray bullet falling into this house.
Rawich Kamolsitthisathit filed a complaint with Hat Yai police on Monday -- and brought an 11mm bullet as supporting evidence.
The exporter said he found the bullet on the second floor of his house in Hat Yai district and spotted a small hole in the ceiling that he believed marked its entry point.
"I heard the gunshots shortly before midnight and then a loud bang on the roof, but at the time I didn't realise my house had been hit," he explained.
For Mr Rawich, this is becoming an unwanted New Year's Eve tradition. He said a bullet fell into his house during the New Year celebration last year as well.
Pol Lt Dechawat Makkum warned anybody firing gunshots into the sky for fun could find themselves in trouble if the bullet damages property -- or people. A certain Sek Loso might take heed.
Mr Rawich hoped that what happened to his house this year would be the last.
"This is the second year. If it happens again next year, the bullet might come right into my bedroom," he said.
